Reaveling: The French Concession Site
Welcome to the French Concession’s own Website/ Blog.
This site is for you if you’re interested in the cities colonial architecture, secrets, stories, bio’s, artifacts and others.
We also hope to introduce the french concession today, the people who live here (maybe you), the businesses, big and small, the restaurants, bars, shops, cafes and galleries that make this place so uniquely wonderful.
Our Hobby’s to collect antiques, and we’ll thanks to our job (at Shplace) we have a lot opportunities to explore the former concession’s historic places.
Believe me, when I say there are many very interesting and intriguing mysteries and stories about this cities history.
Also, we’d like to encourage to contribute, photos, stories, and leads.
Cheers!

There is a map with Shanghai streets in original French and English names published way back in the 1930s at the Los Angeles Main Library. Some Shanghai connoisseurs should use it and compare it with new maps and write a book of Shanghai streets in their new names and old French / English names.
I came to Shanghai not long ago, would like to explore more in Shanghai.
I’m planning to go the French Concession this Wednesday!
Hey Tsienwei,
yes, they should, you know you can buy a map for like 10 Yuan in a Fuzhou Rd Bookstore specializing in Historical Books?
I’ll try to get an address and blog it. It’s a reprint of a 1931 Map in English and Chinese.
Hope you had fun, and will venture out there again, don’t miss all the wonderful art galleries!
